That makes zero sense unless you took others off the rack instead.
But I am no real example because I NEVER try on clothes in any store. I will put them back if I think I look like that in them. The lighting and store mirrors and what I generally look like when I shop all go to the bad as far as whether I want to buy the thing or not.
I am used to just looking and taking it home. I hardly ever have to return anything. I have had years of practice.
In a dressing room, the mirror is usually pretty close. That would explain why the "too short" dress looked okay, but the pants are still a mystery. Were you wearing the same shoes both at the store and at home?
