I read that it is supposed to take effect in December of this year m2c and what it does is allow anyone to sell your browsing history to anyone who wants it. Now I know about cookies. They track what you look up and so there is a trail of that already. But to give others the right to sell your history to others for whatever reasons seems very bad to me. I mean how is that fair to us? Invasion of privacy on which they make money we don't make a dime! I know most things are always about money. Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday! :)
The law was passed in Dec 2016....never went into effect, I don't know when it was but is moot point now. But they are already doing it .....have been since the internet was invented (Not by Al Gore). The law never went into effect and the only thing it did was protect Google/Facebook/Yahoo etc from competition.
Have you ever noticed that if you look at a product online suddenly you start getting all emails for that product and similar products? Or the ads you see on sites will be for that product? This is why...they have already sold your data. If they are going to pass a law like that it should effect all sellers of our data not just the ISPs.
I know about "cookies" m2c. Whenever you go to a site for info the site is "notified" and I guess has your address. But this law allows people to SELL your browser history to the highest bidder. What do we get out of it? Nada. We are just the fodder for their dining and making tons of money off us! It bothers me. If doesn't bother thee. Well there ya go. We are different!
