  • Hi Mr. Bromide,
I don't think operant conditioning has the predominance in my life that B.F. Skinner attributed...but at the same time it's more important than I would like. Sometimes I think one way to express the purpose of life is reclaiming our free will!

The ideas of Max Tegmark, the MIT physicist, are also intriguing...he speculates that in a video game, if the game were complex enough for the figures to be self-aware then eventually the characters would figure out they are just pawns in a mathematical program.
And that our own world operates on the rules of mathematics; or more precisely, Tegmark claims that the physical world IS mathematics!

Will you give us your opinion, or what led you to post the question?

  • Mr. Bromide, I saw the $$$ and wondered if your Q might be coming out of that intensive frustration...

You just hang in there, do what you need to do but just know that the wage slave system is not conducive to human potential.
