Hello M:
Well, he AIN'T gonna steal his thunder, that's for sure. I can't think of another reason. He certainly seems as befuddled as Trump does.

When Trump first started running, the establishment did not beleive he was a R. They accused him of being a D even a liberal. One of the questions in a debate was: ".......When did you become a Republican?"
Pence is traditional Republican.
He is pro-life something people Trump has changed his position on over the years. From pro-choice to pro-life. This helps with the social issue voters.
Pence worked in the House of Rep. before becoming gov of IN. He was expected to become Speaker of the House. This helps get establiment GOP like McConnell to get behind the ticket.
Pence is from the midwest where manufacturing has been hit hard. Trump needs states like OH and maybe PN, WS.
Pence has people who worked for him, who now work for the Koch brothers who so far have been keeping the money and fundraising ability on the sidelines. Hillary is outspending Trump tremendously.
Pence will stay on message...even when Trump does not.
He'll bring in the old man vote.
Hi Marg, the only thing that comes to mind is that Pence is a career politician with many DC. connections, Trump is not and has not.
The reassurance Trump always wanted. The reassurance that he was never seriously seeking the Presidential office.
He just handed the Office to Hillary officially no matter who Hillary picks.
Pence is a tight-assed, old maid. He is staunchly right-wing. All those things the Republicans are craving that are NOT Donald. He is anti gay. He is anti women. He is a shoo in for worst pick imaginable.
No. The rich, tight-assed, white old man vote. Be clear.
For those who can count to ten maybe.
