Oh....summer is here and I am waiting for the ocean to warm up, we usually love to listen to the waves....of course books are the next heavenly outlet;))
Agree about the sound of the ocean but for me I love to be out walking in the pre-dawn and listen to the day wake up. And if I can combine that with a walk along the beach, it's perfect.
Waves surely do it for me, too. Interestingly, I cannot STAND the sounds of the morning -- birds' endless chirping and chattering (that starts insanely early for this light sleeper) can sometimes drive me crazy. Actually, I embrace the lovely sounds of night instead, especially the calm silence of a winter's deep night. Ah -- I go outside on a deep winter's deep night and just stand and soak the silence in.
* * On a musical "note" - - at the end of the movie "Road To Perdition" (a movie I didn't particularly like), I remember sitting in the movie theater and at the very end of the movie, playing over the last scene and the ending credits, came this music -- the music literally soothes my soul. A youtuber made a cool video to accompany the music.

Ocean waves are soothing. A fog horn is also comforting because i know the ocean is not too far away. The sounds of the earth and it's inhabitants waking up early in the Mountains is soothing, as is the sound of a water fall. The smell of fresh pine and flowers is something I miss.
