No lie - - without seeing your answer,  this song was the first song to come to my mind! Mazzy Star! What a phenomenal group! I listen to them only at night it seems- - they have an evening/night sound to me, which I love.
The song itself - - I can fade in to it.
This song bettered my day just now.
    Thanks.

Thank you yourself, I love this song, and the group very much myself. I wish you a great day. :-)

    Thanks, SapphicHeart.
I've listened to it again. Tears in my eyes. It is so damn beautiful to me.

    Omg.

    I never heard this song.
My mouth literally went drop-jawed as I listened to the lyrics.
    I'm speechless and saddened terribly.
    It was beautiful, though.

Yes. It's an incredibly sad and depressing song.  But, it's one of those songs that has always stayed with me. The musical arrangement, along with her rendition, is so heart wrenching and haunting.

I'm still having chills thinking about it. You're 100% correct about this song arrangement and Holiday.
    Oh, my.

Holiday and this song arrangement are like an angel whispering to us damn humans. If this song were sung loudly, it would not be nearly so devastating. Oh, my, is all I can say.

    I hear you, Billie.

I've always liked Vanessa Williams' voice. She released a full-length Christmas album called "Star Bright." It immediately became a favorite Christmas album of mine. I bet you'd like it if you haven't heard it.
This song is on it (not a 'live' version, though, I believe).
Her "Go Tell It on the Mountain/Mary Had a Baby" is phenomenal.
    :)

Oh - - I just heard Vanessa speaking at the end of the video here -- and the calligraphy/font is the same as the album cover. Maybe this video is an excerpt from a special about her album.

I may even post a song here. If I don't, I probably forgot.
    :)

    I'm rambling again.

Here's the song I mentioned from my other post. The song is not quite so good as I remember. It's only at the 3:37 mark that is starts kicking in and really rocking! That's the part I like - - the last half of the song. The first part is pretty, no doubt, but the last half is my favorite part.
    :)
(and the posted lyrics are distracting, sorry.)

That was a disturbing video all around. It detracts from the song itself to me. The visuals are too strong to me and I sort of found the song itself getting in the way of the very strong nature of the video.
I should've closed my eyes and listened.

It sounds like I'm complaining, I know. But I'm not. Good song to me.
    :)

I'm listening to this as I type. This is nice. (I like this still image, too, in the video.) i like ColdPlay but I don't think I've heard them so economical and simple in their style. Just the very acoustic-sounding sound works so well for them! I assume this song is from an album called "Parachutes." I may have to look obtain that album. This is better than some of their hits - -  and I usually like their hits.
Wow -- that's a great understated ending to the song, too.

I never heard of Laura Marling, I believe! I loved this!
And it's a great video to me, too. I really like the use of close-up images of so many faces.
I'm really glad I listened and watched.
    Great stuff!
    :)
