If Russia had a nuclear "accident" around Alaska in the months of April and May would fallout be carried down the West Coast by the Jet Stre

am neutralizing a significant amount of the U.S population?

    In the 50's, America had days when we were recommended to stay indoors due to high counts of radiation in the sky that was a result of open nuclear bomb testing in Nevada. I went outside anyway.

    No. The jet stream goes more from China to the US West coast, so if China had an accident, there could be fallout. If it was in Russia, it would affect primarily Russia. Possibly a bit in Alaska.
