Why didn't Trump stay on stage when Pence got his chance to speak and accept his selection as veep? Trump has no manners apparently. How did he get so far being so clueless?

 Perhaps it is respect for Gov. Pence. I mean Trump is always hogging the microphone and showboating for attention.

If he'd stayed on stage, the accusation would be that he was hogging the attention and was dominating the event. But then, maybe his definition of manners varies from ours. Much like some people's definition of respect.

I think standing in the background and  listening to what his choice for veep was saying during his acceptance speech would have been more respectful bh. But that's just me I guess. Thank you for your reply! :)

He could have moved to the background Polk.  He could have listened attentively to what his choice for veep was saying during his acceptance speech. When  Sarah Palin came out months ago and spoke on Trump's behalf he stayed on the stage during the entire speech. I think it was respectful to do that. Different strokes.
