Maybe in the power of suggestion, I can cool down a little.
Hot? What's hot? I'm in a small village in France and the weather has been perfect - like our Florida winters.
I once worked at a pallet company that had this old International truck used to deliver pallets to customers. I often drove it but it had no air conditioner or heater. I whined about the lack of heater and defroster. They finally opened their tight little wallets and bought a newer model truck. The heater worked AND it had an AIR CONDITIONER. It blew that nipple-hardening cold air that frosted up the windows on a hot summer day. Amazing. I looked forward to unloading that truck in the hot sun and then jumping back into the "icebox" that was the cab. Reminded me of my days as a paperboy with a 7 mile long route that I did EVERY DAY with my bicycle. No protection in those midwestern winter afternoons that sometimes reached single digits below zero. I often got a little frostbite on my ears and nose. Later, I rode a motorcycle EVERY DAY to school. I remember riding one morning when it was minus 9F.
I am having a Popsicle Fudgepop (no sugar added). I highly recommend this 40 calorie delight to cool and satisfy the sweet tooth.
(Points at you, nodding and applauds). Well done!
Sorbets. I am going to buy a lot of frozen fruit and make some.
I emptied about half of one of those plastic ice trays into a giant plastic cup then filled it up with ginger ale. It's ice cold and delicious.
Vernors!
