How you perceive others has at least as much to do with whom YOU are as it does with whom they are. Agree/dis/why?

Presumptions/assumptions/second-hand reports. Predispositions, prejudices, partisanship. What you see is as much about you as it is about "the other". As you judge/assume/presume you reveal yourself. Uh-oh or okey dokey?

We do tend to recognizes in others the same traits that we ourselves possess.

So what we dislike in others we dislike in ourselves? Really? I totally disagree. I have nothing in common with Donald Trump on any level. There is also absolutely nothing about him that I admire, respect, honor. He is not my cuppa tea. You are telling me it is because he and I are alike that I feel/think that way. I don't buy it. Thank you for your reply tj. Now if you tell me that what I admire in others I also am I would take exception to that as well. I admire in others what I wish I could be and am not. I am not unique. I'm pretty sure there are others out there who feel similarly. FYI. :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 4, 2017 3:28 AM MDT
