Putin is publicly a member of the Russian Orthodox church ... but also in 2004 stated that "there is no such thing as a former KGB man". The KGB used assassination as a political tool (as did the CIA, although less obviously).
There are at least 38 murders/suspicious deaths connected to him. Journalists and anti-Putin folks! Whatta guy! SIGH. Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Tuesday. Politics is a dirty business no matter what color or flavor or nation it comes in. Maybe in this particular case one size does fit all. Sadly. :(
While there may be a few who claim to be Christ amongst them, I am reasonably certain that the vast majority of those identifying as Christians do not.
You're very right, I actually meant to cite Matthew 7:21-23. Apologies to all! However, the scripture I quoted applies to the thousands of religions claiming to be Christian and have misled untold millions. Thank you for the correction. :)

I've always wondered WHY people claim to be what they aren't. What are they ashamed of? What are they hiding? Who are they trying to con and why? I didn't know that Putin of all people claimed to be a Christian though. That takes chutzpah doesn't it? Of all the things in the world to lie about he lies about that! He has directed the murder of journalists and anti-Putin resistance fighters which everyone knows.Thank you for your reply Autumn and Happy Tuesday. :)
Rosie, this man is known to be controlled by the Russian orthodox church. Russia has just banned the Jehovah's witnesses because we are considered an extremist, terrorist, and highly dangerous group. It is without a doubt that the orthodox religion heavily influenced putin and his government to decide against the witnesses in spite of the total lack of evidence. This is the behavior of this so-called Christian. Cnn produced a documentary on this "Christian" political leader. Rather fascinating, yet very disturbing piece. :) happy Tuesday to you too!!

As you know Jim's son and daughter-in-law are of the exact same faith as you. "...extremist, terrorist and highly dangerous" is not how I would characterize them or you. Does that mean you are now targets for elimination then...those who are unfortunate enough to live in Russia? Of course Putin doesn't limit himself to Russia. He acts with malice and evil worldwide. SIGH. The man is pure evil and a murderous despotic dictator . He is a also a very desperate man not unlike Donald Trump. They were crushed when that evil woman Marine LePen was humiliated by the huge loss/rejection/repudiation to the centrist Emmanuel Macron. Desperate men do desperate thhings .
