It's normal to pay your child to do certain chores. Is it also "normal" to pay your child for getting good grades? Do you/did you? Why?

    My children are no longer minors, when they were attending school, I was never a proponent of paying them for achieving good grades. On the contrary, achieving the best grade or grades that each of them could based on the amount of effort they applied to their studies was an expectation. As such, it wasn't rewarded monetarily. Going above and beyond expectations was a different story.
