It's illegal to tape conversations without the consent/knowledge of the person being taped. What happens if the contents are released/outed?

You KNOW the source.  Can the source be charged, tried, convicted and imprisoned? Any source at any level of government in the good US of A? WITHOUT EXCEPTION ?

Federal law and 37 states' laws only require "One party" to consent to recording conversations.  That means if I want to record a conversation in which I am a party I may.   You live in a state that requires that all parties consent, but your state is in the minority here.
