They still do flyovers. Both locals and feds look for marijuana, municipalities look for things they cannot see from the road that someone may have done without a permit, and the state police here flyover my city every weekend.
Britain has the most CCTV surveillance anywhere, it's easy to monitor such a little island, the only place you can go where you won't be filmed is the woods or forest. We also get a lot of police helicopters fly over.
