Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Are you a GOOD citizen? Do you vote in all elections including primaries or do you sluff them off and just complain? What is a good citizen?
Could you be more specific whistle? You "sluff" it off? You haven't voted since 1980? Or do you mean something entirely different? Inquiring minds wanna know and not guess!

I turned 18 before the 1980 elections, so they would have been the first elections I could have participated in. So, here I am, all these decades later, never even registered to vote.
We vote on EVERYTHING m2c. I investigate those candidates about whom I know nothing to see what their track records are. You know...judges and supervisors and dogcatchers and the like. I take a lot of time so that I can learn who these people are. Some of them are already familiar to me but many of them are complete strangers! Then Jim and I sit down and review with him what I found out. It takes a lot of time sometimes but it's my job. I want to be an informed citizen and that doesn't happen by osmosis! Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday!:).
My locals are not even contested. The real election is the primary. So unless there are other issues on the ballot, there is not point. Unless there would be a serious write in campaign.
In California everything is contested all the time. I think population-wise we're the largest state and very political. Certainly different areas of the country are different. Thanks for the clarification m2c. I know you are a good citizen and don't slough off or use inane excuses to sit out elections. We couldn't have had all the conversations we do if that were true! :) ((hugs))
