Is there a biological benefit to farts smelling bad?
Scientists have found ways all sorts of obscure things benefit us. Is there actually a benefit to the way farts smell? Why can't they smell like roses? Wouldn't that be more beneficial for the survival of the species?
The only time it's tolerable is when it's your own fart. Everyone loves their own brand. Otherwise, I feel grossed out if I breathe it in. It's like I don't want to breathe it in with my nose and I can't breathe it with my mouth because I don't want to taste it. Anyway, I don't know why farts smell bad. Maybe it's because it's a waste product?
Farts smell like feces, and feces we should stay away from because they are full of the bacteria from the animal that produced them. You may notice that animal farts have quite different smells, not because they are all that different in content, but because different animals house different bacteria. The farts that smell worst are those that come form animals with bacteria that can also harm us.
So ye there is a benefit to stinking farts, The repel us so we dont get too close to the bacteria.
