    Sure, but think about how parents sometimes call newborns "precious gifts". Why does that have to change when we get older? We shouldn't need a day to remind us to show eachother appreciation (mother's day, daughter's day, etc.) but it is kind of nice to be given that kind of special attention now and then. Such days are good opportunities for spending time together.

    Yes, it's enough.  All of these "special"  days are ridiculous.
