Clothes don't make the man but they do have an effect on you. Don't they?

The question was inspired by an Answermug pal who brought up the subject of CASHMERE in response to a question I asked. I've worn an orlon sweater (synthetic and very cheap) and I've worn cashmere (a gift) and I will tell you when I wore the cashmere sweater I did not feel the same as when I wore the orlon. I'm not sure about the why. How important to you is the feel of the material on your skin whether it be cashmere or silk or cotton or wool? Why?

Mum bought me a pair of alpaca socks once. Lovely stuff, but they wore out in no time.

Some synthetic in the mix is a useful compromise.

Alpaca? Wow. I guess some things ar just more fragile than others. Thank you for your reply Malizz and Happy Monday. I'm allergic to wool. If I try on a wool sweater I starting itching. A very unpleasant  experience. But I never itched when I wore my cashmere sweater. I wonder if there is something they can do to make wool not itch? :)
