It the sentense below proper written english (lovers of bakers) ?

Today, more than a million tins leave the East London factory and as well as home consumption, are exported across the globe to lovers of the sweet, sticky stuff and bakers.

    Yes. I ran it through WhiteSmoke and Grammarly (Grammar Checkers) and both gave it a pass. I don't understand the "and as well as home consumption" part, but for whatever reason, that got the green light from both as well. The last part I was pretty sure was correct, but I checked it anyway.

    While it sounds rather odd, the "as well as home consumption" part could be restated as "in addition to domestic sales", so it does make sense.
