If you were being completely honest, how would you respond to the question 'what's your greatest weakness' in a job interview?

Most of know how to answer that without looking bad, but what if you answered with something that would make it less likely that you would be hired?

You never let me forget, it's almost as if you're not even ashamed of it.

My complete lack of caring about my co-workers along with whether or not I do a good job.  I also have a tendency to moon my boss when I get annoyed with him/her. .

I don't think that last one would have been a deal-breaker in my workplace.

LOL! Maybe I'll stop by and  moon your old boss just for the pleasure of it.

The pleasure would be all his, I'm sure. I didn't even work in the same country as my old boss. We had to moon him via video-conferencing.

No, smarty. It was a condition of the restraining order.

Wow, you have a history of blanketing the countryside with these frivolous restraining orders, don't you?  I'm beginning to see the common denominator here.  And there I was thinking it was me . . .

The interviewer probably guessed that when you walked in and said 'so, how is this gonna take?'

Fortunately, my boss of 26+ years is a softie and understands my inability to deal with people who have no clue what they're doing.

  • No, not your question but the cited interview question.  Other stupid question I have encountered in interviews: "What do you have to offer this company?"  "Where do you see yourself in five years?"  "Why do you want to work here?"   These were asked a entry level food service jobs.  They are a test at how fast the interviewee can think of a lie.  The  first two questions I cite may be appropriate for a degreed candidate.  The third question is fatuous if not flat out stupid.  And managers wonder why they encounter poor attitudes in interviewees.
