When you book a flight ticket, do you take travel insurance?

    My mom, presently at New Jersey, will travel with me, that's why I decided to go in for travel insurance.

    Yes, once our baggage went missing, we were given $100 per day. After 2 days it was traced and given to us.

    Veena, are you saying that on that occasion you had ourchased baggage insurance ahead of time, and because of it they paid you the money?  Also, once your luggage was returned to you, did you have to return the money that had been paid?

    Nah just travel insurance....we were enroute to Dallas, in Chicago airport our luggage went missing, we were given $400 for 2 days, no, we didn't have to return it....!

    I do because aside from my own age factor, my mom is in a nursing home and if something were to happen, I wouldn't want to lose the cost of the ticket.

    The insurance is not that much more.  If for some reason you weren't able to take the trip, look how much money you would lose.
