Yep. I have one sister who lives out of state, We talk and text a lot. The rest of my siblings live pretty close. We are all still close even if we don't see each other everyday.
Most all of my family has passed away but my kids are sure scattered yo the winds! Daughter in Washington state and my two sons live in Wyoming. My brother went M.I.A. after the "Tet" offensive and my sister passed away in the 80's from complications from Lupus. Have one cousin left in Texas but we don't get along too well.
For the most part, scattered hither and yon. but I have a sister that still lives in town and my daughter lives about 20 miles away. My son and his family live in Everett WA and another sister lives in Hawaii.
My daughter is my family. The rest? I would not give two nickels for and would not even acknowledge if they walked by me on the street.
Everyone who was close to me has died and everyone that is not close, is alive. I have a lot of friends. That saying you can pick your friends but not your relatives? I learned that years ago.
Sadly no. Both my parents are deceased and my siblings are not part of my life with the exception of my brother who I will have some phone conversations with. I am close to his live in girlfriend who has been his long time companion for years.
I am close to my adult kids and fond of my step kids, but we don't live very close to each other. I do have a ton of cousins, aunts, and uncles that live in Canada, but distance keeps them from being a part of my physical world. Facebook is my main source of connection to them.
If I could change one thing about my life, it would be to have more happy family around me. I admire those that have that.
My dad died last year, but we were never close. My mom is getting too difficult to be around, or even talk to. I have 3 sisters and one brother, they all live pretty close with the exception of one sister who lives out of state.
My immediate family are pretty close. Our daughters and their children do things together. My family of nieces, nephews and cousins keep in contact with one another, but most of them live in different states.
