When written about the Trump presidency will be asterisked to a footnote from here to eternity. What will that footnote be? Why?

The worst President to ever be elected.    Started wars, famine, fed terrorism, split America into factions of hate groups, one group against another.  Put freedom back 100 years.    Broke every law in the book and hid it by controlling who judges his actions.

Because of Trump, however, America now has policies to ensure that criminals cannot rule the country.  Stricter guidelines are adhered to as far as who is allowed to run for such an office.  Because of Trump, the House and Senate have been totally dismantled.   We now know that Congressional seats must have equal and fair representation.  No longer can one party dominate over another party.

We can only hope.
