Do you have a favorite Dr. Seuss book?

Mine always seemed to be "Are You my Mother?"

~ I loved the little bird, the whole book and the steam shovel fascinated me.

With the three answers as of now, I had not read the two books mentioned. And here I thought I had read a lot of Seuss as a little tot.

  • "Are You My Mother?" is by P. D. Eastman, though it is part of the "Beginner Books" series commonly associated with Dr. Seuss.

My favorite Seuss book was always Fox in Socks. :)

    Woops, I goofed -- you're right!

I best change my question since "Are You my Mother?" is key for me.
    Oh, well.

I don't think I ever had read "Fox in Socks."
    :)

Thanks for your help and answer, Nevan B!

  • Two very obscure ones, "The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss" and "The 5,000 fingers of Dr. T".   Of his more popular works "Skeetches on the Beaches."

I've not heard or read any of these.
    :)

Unless the titles are all jokes -- I'm very gullible and have already missed several jokes in the last couple of days here on answermug. They all went right over my head.

    Thanks for answering, whistle6!

UPDATE: And I just now looked up the urban meaning of "skeetch."  This post was edited by WelbyQuentin at June 28, 2017 8:35 PM MDT

  • No, both are serious. The art book can be purchased and the 5,000 Fingers, the doctor's only movie can be purchased online to view.  Google them.

I cannot think of one I do not like.  I love them all.  Truly.

    You're wrong as the deuce
    And you shouldn't rejoice
    If you're calling him Seuss.
He pronounces it Soice (or Zoice)
According to Wiki this is a quote from Dr. Seuss.  (soice?)
