It seems logical to me that we would prefer to be among those who value us and treat us respectfully. In every area of life. Agree/dis?

But there are some folks who seem drawn to those who treat them very badly. Is it because they think they DESERVE to be treated that way? Did their parents  make them feel that they were of little value? Where does that kind of mindset originate and can it ever be reversed?
