Aye, indeed, and spare them the spanking they would get from life, years later if not for now. This post was edited by O-uknow at July 9, 2017 4:27 AM MDT

I have found that is all it takes.
Most of my kids responded better to the corner or some sort of grounding. This post was edited by my2cents at July 8, 2017 8:11 PM MDT

Aye, indeed. It does not require much in Christian households :)

Main thing I think is to be consistent so they know what is expected and what is/is not allowed.

  • WHat does God have to do with beating a child? You two sound more like ISIS members than Christians

There is a big difference between a spanking and a beating. Anyone who beats a child should be thrown in jail for a long time.
There is a verse in the Bible about  "Whoever does not discipline his son hates him, but whoever loves him is diligent to correct him."  which means not beat but to discipine your children or they will have a hard life.

  • I would never lay a hand on a child especially a 4 year old. That is not discipline, it's abuse.

People who spank, slap or hit their kids have something wrong with them

  • It's wrong....period

I don't understand it, but if you had not noticed..it seems to be a "Conservative" trait to beat your children

  • Can't feel getting their bottoms smacked?

  • Nope. The age doesn't matter to me, that isn't the type of punishment I would use. I wasn't spanked at all growing up. I guess I was just too perfect for that. Some kids must need more "correction" :P

No. Violence begets violence no matter what the intention.
