    No one is above criticism.

Critics often make stuff up and even if their criticism has some validity it often completely lacks perspective. They often nitpick their political enemies while ignoring things their allies have done that are far far worse.

Very often they demonize normal behavior. Russia allegedly trying to influence the election is a perfect example. All major powers try to influence the world in their favor. The U.S. does it all the time! All politicians look for dirt on their opponents and no one cares where the dirt comes from.

The powers that be, both corporate and state, overwhelmingly backed Hillary's campaign. So even if the critics are right about Russia trying to turn public opinion against Hillary, it means precisely nothing. The net message of the media was overwhelmingly in support of Hillary.

It doesn't matter if the electorate are influenced by foreign powers. It's an inevitable consequence of global communication. The electorate's decision is legitimate, whether you believe it is right or wrong, wise or unwise. This post was edited by Zeitgeist at July 15, 2017 8:17 AM MDT
