Put on seat belt after starting engine. Why? It's 100+ degrees out. I need the AC.

Moot.  Refuse to wear one.  Ever.  That's why.  Won't do it.

Seat belt first - I don't like to hear the seat belt reminder.

After, just in case a bomb goes off, you might have a chance of getting out. I would definitely suggest this if you live in or by a Muslim neighborhood, lol.

I don't drive, but if I did I would fasten the seat belt first.

Start the car first. The fix mirrors, seat and lastly seatbelt.

  •   There are probably differences in seat belt laws, from state to state, so here is how California's seat belt law reads ...
"Any operator of a motor vehicle must wear a safety belt at all times."

That said ... with the engine started, you are operating the vehicle. So ... "seat belt first."

Thanks, but I'm asking what you usually do, not what people should do or what the law states.

  • Ah ... I missed that part. Okay ... seat belt first because I don't like the "dumb guy" bells and lights if I do it the other way.
