Do you mean psychopaths? Vast difference.

Yes, psychopaths are drawn to certain careers that allow them to feel powerful, and sometimes even to kill.

Not deserved. No one chooses to be mentally ill. :(

Well, even that is debatable, new friend. Actions in life and substance abuse contribute.

I won't argue that sometimes those are factors. Even so, they aren't consciously choosing to become ill. Plenty of people make poor choices and abuse substances and aren't afflicted with mental illness. The factors that most contribute are nature and nurture, and no one gets a choice in that.

  • I'm sure there are some psychopaths with an urge to kill who join police forces and military so that they can do so legally. I'm also sure that it's rare, but it must occur sometimes.

In a population of millions it is occurring too often and should not be tolerated. This post was edited by O-uknow at July 17, 2017 9:15 PM MDT

Sadly, not rare. Cop is in the top 10 of careers that attract the most psychopaths.

    Interesting article

"Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been variously described as characterized by shallow emotions (in particular reduced fear), stress tolerance, lacking empathy, coldheartedness, lacking guilt, egocentricity, superficial character, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity and antisocial behaviors such as parasitic lifestyle and criminality."

I wonder if Political offices draw Psychopaths too ;-))

I would suggest you provide evidence for the first conjecture before we proceed to the other.

As people tend to gravitate toward jobs matching their skill set, and comfort zone, that does make a certain amount of sense.
