Since all children are the products of their biological parents' DNA, the DNA manifest in a different way. How does it happen?

Some of us are mirror images of our parents or we share many of the same traits/ticks/idiosyncracies. But we are not all chips off the same old block. What determines what parts of the DNA kick in after birth and which run silently/mutely beneath the surface having little or no effect?

I read/heard where most behavior, (good or bad), from our children is learned behavior from family, parents or friends.

What parents do and don’t do, say and don’t say, provide their children with the experiences that their children interpret into beliefs. Those beliefs, in turn, then determine their behavior and emotions and, ultimately, their lives for better or for worse.. Morty Lefkoe...        https://www.mortylefkoe.com/your-behavior-as-parents-determines-your-childrens-future-happiness/

So given the DNA, even more important is what happens after one is born. Parents are the first teachers and role models so it makes sense. Thank you for your reply Bean/SG and Happy Friday to thee! :)
