Do you ever need to eat while you're waiting for your other food to cook?

Or is it just me? I'm so ashamed.

  • Do not be ashamed. Do not give in to preposterous cultural notions about food or eating.   When I'm making supper most always I'm having light snacks, one may call them "appetizers" or a pint or two while my meal cooks.

  • Good. Now go have a snack. Scoff at calories, carbs and fat! Some of my favored snacks are pickled eggs (mine are superior), crackers and cheese- often topped with apple slices or smoked fish, chips and salsa.

  • This is why  I don't bother to cook.... I usually just end up eating half jar of olives while sitting on my kitchen floor at midnight,  when I remember I should probably eat. my life is  so gangsta ;)

I love Kalamatas and olives are supposed to be very good for the skin.  But man cannot live on olive alone.

    Have a few sandwiches.

I also eat on my way to the grocery store.

I need to be objective when I shop and not a slave to my craving.

While I do try to time hunger and food prep better there are times that I fail.  Yesterday I put chicken in the crock pot and realized I was hungry right then.  I made a piece of toast and had an egg which worked fine for holding me a few hours.

It depends on how long it takes the food to cook.
If it takes a few hours I may have a small snack to hold me over till it's done.
