Do you think Spock felt any kind of love for Captain Kirk?

Kirk was really a jerk most of the time.  How could they be friends? Spock was so rational.  I just don't buy he viewed their friendship to be as close as Kirk thought they were.  Maybe they were each other's Yin and Yang?

I never got what they were trying to do with those characters.  They looked like a bad soap opera in outer space with the same plot line which was something was taking over someone on the ship's body and making them act strange.

    Every episode had that.  WHY?

    Limited imagination of the writers.

Growing up, I actually loved the show.  I was plastered to the TV when it aired.

I am so sorry I didn't see it when it aired.  I was not interested in TV back then.  I was in my early 20's.  But I know people like yourself who saw this show when it was current and they felt just like you.

Now it is too hard to imagine or remember how things were back in the day when bad costumes looked professionally done.  I am not talking about the stuff the crew wore, even though those mini-skirts look ridiculous in outer space.  But I'm talking about the insane stuff they put on the other characters in the show.  Most of it was badly sewn tafeta.

Like Halloween trick or treat costumes.

LOL!  I was a little kid and thought it all was amazing.  Yeah, I wasn't too bright.  It just served as an outlet to escape a crappy childhood.

I was going to suggest there was a little sumptin' sumptin' going on between them but I didn't want to upset the children.

Shatner's supposed to be a major prick in real life.

LOL.  That's what I heard.  He certainly is conceited so I wouldn't doubt his being  a massive prick to deal with.

I'd love to put Shatner and Trump in a room together. The whole building would probably collapse in a pile of narcissistic rubble.

  • Those are just the parts he has played as a character. He's continued to play that dry witty humor cuz people like it.

I've seen several reports of him being an out of character prick as well.

  • I just now saw a few commentaries by those that have worked with him. Guess he's a prick. I never really followed him, wait .. I did like him on "the Practice".

So did I.  But, I think we liked him on that show because he was just being himself. ;-)

  • Love?  Unlikely, too much emotion. Loyalty and respect, defiantly as expressed in "The Ultimate Computer".  Spock also had a deep friendship for McCoy, see "Amok Time".
