At the GOP convention.
I cannot imagine that to be true. Not unless he told Trump off. Did he? He is worse than Trump in many ways. Oh wait. He was booed off the stage for NOT endorsing Trump? I'm liking him better already.
Marguerite, this is awesome!!!!! He finally did one thing right. GO TED. GO TED.
Cruz was booed roundly during his speech, during which he congratulated, but failed to endorse Trump, who appeared briefly at the convention Wednesday. Cruz also told voters pointedly to "vote your conscience."
The speech provoked a raft of reactions both on and off the convention floor, with Cruz being excoriated by Trump supporters and lauded directly and indirectly by Democrats and Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Gov. Chris Christie spoke to MSNBC about Cruz' performance, and said that "it was an awful, selfish speech by someone who tonight... showed everybody why he has richly earned the reputation that he has on Capitol Hill."
Gov. Mike Huckabee published a screed about Cruz on Facebook, saying that he betrayed Trump's trust.
Hopefully that's all Ted Cruz will be remembered for.
As much as I dislike Ted, that was an amazing speech.
It was not an appropiate speech for the convention. It was a primary campaign speech. He needs to get over it, he lost. He should not have made a speech that attacked Trump (indirectly) and then in the morning attacked Trump again. By saying the delegates began to boo because he said to vote for someone who would defend the constitution....implying that people do not believe Trump will. They booed because they realized Cruz was not going to endorse and was making vague attacks.
It was not dignified of his position, he may think that was the kick off to his 2020 campaign but truly it was the end of his chances in 2020 and beyond.
Of course you liked it....it attacked Trump. But you are not going to vote for Cruz ever, now are you?
I'm afraid not.
