I don't know.  Some do and some do not.

This one this year is making me sick to my stomach, that's for sure.  I think it is further exposing Trump for the nothing that he is.  It is exposing the widening of that party against him and the rats that jumped aboard the Trump ship as soon as they thought he might have a chance to win, not because they feel any change of heart whatsoever, but because they are opportunists. People who need to get in the limelight for their last 5 minutes of fame like Huckabee, the cockroach that won't die but hides and pops out his head anytime he's allowed to show it and cause further mischief.

It has shown his wife to be an incompetent boob.    It has shown that all he has so far in his vest pocket to add to his hot air speeches is more denigration of Hillary.   I wish they'd make a movie out of it, exposing Trump for the true loser he is, but he's already doing a great job of that all by himself.

I'm sure the Democratic convention will be more of the same Rah Rah baloney, but it could never reach the lows of the Trump nonsense.

I wish Hillary would pointedly ignore him after giving a brief introductory  speech about why.   But I doubt that will happen.  I am disappointed in her yelling back at him in her past speeches.  It makes her look silly.   The less she yells back and attacks him, the less time she is spending on her agenda and future plans as a serious ruler.

Yes, I do think they matter for the candidate's image in the eyes of the party base. It's a time to get the people of the party on the side of the candidate.
