Only time will tell. All I know is thus far, anyone who thought they could take on Trump ends up looking foolish at best or completely humiliated at worst. Why Kelly needed the aggravation at this point in his career is beyond me. I truly hope he succeeds but it looks to me more like a marriage people enter into thinking they're going to change their partner but soon find out it's never gonna happen.

Kelly is a 3-star general, not accustomed to having his "orders" disobeyed.  The Chief of Staff's most obvious duty is to limit the umber of people who have access to the president.  Considering that Trump loved it when people just barge in to see him, Kelly will have his work cut out for him.  General Mattis is a 4-star general - can you see Kelly telling Mattis he can't get into the Oval Office?
