ONE someone keeps rallying to an ever-shrinking base. At some point there are only empty chairs there. Do rallies continue to thin air?

Who needs an audience? Of what value are the cheers and claps and laughs? If the message is sincere why can't it be in front of empty halls and auditoriums?
