Christians disagree with Jesus apparently. What an oddly bizarre thing to realize. Isn't it?

Per Julie Zauzman of the Washington Post...Christians are more likely to think poverty is caused by lack of effort. More than twice as likely as others in fact. Christians believe in free will, personal responsibility and financial success. They are RIGHT (not left) and they are COMPASSIONATE. Allegedly. Supposedly. Theoretically. But what would Jesus do? What did Jesus say?

LUKE 6:20-21

Jesus said "blessed are you who are poor for yours is the kingdom of God"

So who is right here? Whom do you believe?

Anyone reading the Old Testament sees a god that is obviously vengeful and jealous.  NOT the "loving, forgiving" god of the New Testament.  Thus giving lie to two hallmarks of the Christian god ... that he is unchanging and omniscient.

Not at all.  He simply did not reveal Himself totally in the Old Testament.  He revealed a new relationship with His creation in the New Testament.  Seek a relationship with Him and He will reveal even more of hat He is.

He simply did not tell us evrything about Himself in the Bible. This post was edited by tom jackson at August 12, 2017 9:55 AM MDT

Jesus did not say blessed are the poor.  That old line has been re-worked so many times, we don't know what he said.   I think he was referring to those who have no worldly goods but still live and love God. Their's is the kingdom of heaven because they are already there if nothing bothers them.

    But that is just me.

WHICH CHRISTIANS, JULIE?   The ones that voted for Trump?  THOSE?  There are a lot more Christians than the white RIGHT.  The ones who really follow the word of Christ.

More than twice as likely as others in fact. Christians believe in free will, personal responsibility and financial success.

There is no proof that to be a Christian means that you believe in financial success.

They are RIGHT (not left) and they are COMPASSIONATE.   Compassion means to feel for the other person. They feel for their pocketbooks but that doesn't mean those are representatives of all Christians.  To follow Christ doesn't always mean you are a Catholic or a Mormon or whatever.

Allegedly. Supposedly. Theoretically. But what would Jesus do? What did Jesus say?

Jesus said basically LOVE ALL.  Serve your brother and sister like you would serve yourself.  For you are all ONE and we are all GOD.

    That.  He said THAT.
