I've had purebred Golden Retrievers, Norwegian Elkhounds, and German Shepherds (The German Shepherd was from a rescue organization for the breed.) All the others have been rescue "mutts" from either the pound or through one of the local pet stores.
The purepreds were magnificent dogs. They are prone to specific disabilities that you can almost expect to occur... The mutts are equally magnificent in their own ways and tend to simply grow old and then go to the Rainbow Bridge..
Yes, I love all dogs; and I try to let them become whatever they were born to be.

They are cute, but a little too hyper for me. My aunt had about 5 of them.......It was interesting going to see her. She has 35 acres way out in the country so they did have plenty of room to run around.
Collies are one of my favorite breeds. Had one growing up and she was fiercely loyal with such a big personality. And beautiful, not to mention. I love all big dogs; Saint Bernard or Newfoundland dogs are so sweet to me!!
I finally have an apartment that's dog-friendly, but my work schedule varies so much that I don't think I'd be able to give a dog the kind of attention that it deserves.
