I heard that one time an airline stewardess fell out of a plane somehow and landed in a hay stack. She survived, I guess? Deep powdery snow also seems to be great to land on, it really absorbs the impact and of course water is ok, but it depends how you land.
If you mean free fall as in a downward spiral in life then get some space from whatevers stressing you, get a lot of rest and avoid alcohol and other substances that just make problems worst. Get lots of exercise and practice good nutrition. As soon as I take my own advice and do these things I'll let you know if it works, good luck.

Yeah that's why I said it depends how you land. Water isn't the best, but if you put your legs together and your arms against your body you can enter the water smoother and it's slightly better than concrete I'm sure. Either way don't jump off a bridge, thanks.
A really good friend who doesn't judge you, knows you well enough to simply be the support & sounding board you need, and not try to tell you how to fix things.
Well, I hope that I have prepared sufficiently financially not to take that kind of tumble, but if I did, I would hope that with three sisters, five adult nieces and four adult nephews, someone would keep me from being homeless and hungry.
