I don't know him, M. I am learning as we speak.   Do you think Hilldog picked him because of his stance on Iran?

Or is this about his stand on gun violence?

I think they are making a mistake if he doesn't have HOT wife.  What are they thinking.  Hillary is not good looking like Melania.  I was hoping she  would pick a hot partner or at least a partner with a hot wife or how can we admire her choice?

    Yawn.

He seems marginally more progressive and less beholden to the Corporatist Kleptocrats than HRC, but if he were an exciting choice, I'd know much more about him already.

It seems HRC has acquired much of the same Disease of Timidity as infected President Obama once things started getting real.

I don't think this will significantly hurt HRC's election chances, but I don't think it helps as much as picking a Sanders-esqu progressive might have reenergized some of the Democratic Party's left-leaning base.

Old he hates guns.    That is a good thing.   We are just trying to get Trump not to win.  Let's not go for the gold because we are not getting gold.  We are maybe getting a lot of plastic.  But at least? Let's not elect the coal.

@DJAM -- It sounds like he's a "safe" choice. He won't hurt the ticket. He might marginally help in Virginia. He probably doesn't have any significant dirt on him.

I worry, however, in this crazy election year that "safe" is a losing strategy. If I recall correctly, there was substantial polling evidence indicating if Bernie Sanders could somehow have beaten HRC in the primary, he would have wiped the floor with Trump. I wish HRC would have tapped into that potential and named a more progressive Veep along with some fanfare suggesting the Veep would influence policy. It wouldn't even necessarily have to be true (what has Biden done in 7+ years as Veep?), but it might have tapped into the Sanders-Trump anti-establishment vein that HRC is mostly alienating at this time.

OLD I don't know why she did this either.  I am seeing all too clearly, more and more,  why she is a depressing choice.  DEPRESSING.   This guy sounds like milktoast. Bland and safe.  It is like she is ignoring the wants of those Democrats she could win over and really alienating them further with this non-Bernie type choice of hers.

She could have made a very impressive choice and she goes with what is "mystifyingly" safe.  I don't get it.  Maybe she took a look at what her solid voter base is and thought they couldn't handle a Bernie type?   I think they wanted a Bernie type.  No one is solidly in love with this woman.  No one.  I guess she wants to hold the reigns and this guy is a better lackey.

Well if you hate to talk badly about political figures, please don't read my comments regarding Donald Trump.  LOL

    They are bad words.

No one here minds if you speak the truth and Oster, you seem to know WHY you think what you do.   Around here?  That is a rare gift
