If you tell the truth no matter how insensitive, self-aggrandizing and badly timed should you be admired/extolled or chided? Why?

IMO you should be admired..but  I'm-reminded of this movie quote: Jack Nicholson says "You want answers?" Then Tom Cruise says "I think I'm entitled to them!" Nicholson asks again "You want answers?" To which Cruise replies "I want the truth!" It is then that Nicholson serves up the famous line "You can't handle the truth!"

There are bad lies that are destructive and self-centered, there are also good lies that serve to not cause harm.  A white lie might save a situation from getting badly out of hand..making it better..

All three of those insulting to the ear behaviors does not bode well for a crowd you wish to address and get behind you.  If you want your words to be heard, speak softly and sweetly.  In these times?  You will shock the Universe by your demeanor.  When the rest of the world is screaming and yelling, when even your women candidates act like shrews to get their point across, a silent, calm demeanor would work WONDERS.  Especially if their words were profound.

That is, if they don't get mowed down in the process.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

I try not to be insensitive or self-aggrandising when I tell the truth, but people don't always admire or extol me for it. I think they should admire and extol me when I expose their dishonesty and dirty deeds, yet that's the very thing they refuse to admire or extol me for. Why do you think that is, Rosie?

    Happy Saturday!:)

None of the above.  You should be understood and respected for telling the truth.

The truth is it's own worth and people who value it shall embrace it no matter how it is delivered to them..

For people who hold the truth to be the only thing of real importance they do not seek the praise and admiration of others for giving the truth and in the end they don't care if they are hated for giving the truth..
