July 6th, 2014 was the longest day of my life. I was awake for all 24 hours of it, as well as much of the 5th and a couple hours at night on the 7th. Added together it was about 41 total hours awake without sleeping at all. The reason was that my best friend and I stayed up all night at the airport for our 5 A.M. flight to Denver, then spent the day in Denver and didn't go to sleep until 1 A.M.
Before I quit my addiction to prescription pain pills, i remember those days whenn id run out early and i couldnt refill my next prescription for days. Id have sleepless nights too, but never had the pleasure of hallucinating. ;P
The pain was what kept me awake - doctors in Australia need a particular licence to provide multiple repeat prescriptions of narcotics above a certain level, and most don't get it. At the time oxycidone couldn't cut it, I was on methodone. After the op, I was able to wean myself off of the painkillers fairly quickly. Only took a fortnight of gradually reducing the dosage. I've been clean for seven years.
Hi MorningStar. No, i was just curious. I did have an entire year of insomnia once. Coulndt have gotten in more than a total of a month worth of sleep in the entire year of 2014. Broke 16 ribs in a car wreck that year sleep driving because of it. I survived .
Yes thank you for asking. I think the human body only has 24 bones in it so i had a few to spare. LOL. Ironically, the same day I got in the car crash November 15th 2014th, my grandson was born. We were both in the hospital the same day. It will make for a great story to tell him someday. We are very close as I am his primary caregiver. ;)
