TYPICAL TRUMP. He did not place the blame where it belonged. He spread it around. He did not call out WHITE NATIONALISTS/KKK. Why?

His great good buddy Steven Bannon is one of them. That's why. So is that Nazi Trump spokesperson with the British accent that is everywhere on TV, Sebastian Gorka, just as Kellyann Conway ustsa be. The Donald base proliferates with White Nationalists/KKK/HATE groups. He cannot afford to alienate them so he won't. Sad. Shameful. Bannon probably would have been part of the HATE marchers if he were not needed by Trump.

This was a riot between far right scum and far left scum.

Yes he did call out the neo nazis. He called out both sides. Though as usual the left thinks its sh*t doesn't stink.

Antifa are pure scum. Just as bad as the neo nazis.

  • Total bull. Not everyone protesting the white nationalists were "anti-fa". That's an excuse. There are people on the right who hate Neo-Nazis too, you know.

Anti-fa are crap, yes, and I'm sure most of the people who got violent were extreme, but these were not just two extremist groups involved. It doesn't take extremists to oppose Nazis. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at August 14, 2017 3:16 AM MDT

The people involved in violence on both sides went there looking for a fight. When you look for a fight you find one. I hate neo nazis too but I have always thought protesting them (and other extremists groups such as antifa, blm etc) was pointless. In the modern world, protest is accomplished from the comfort of your keyboard. The only reason to take to the streets is to seek confrontation for its own sake.

I also believe in free speech and free assembly even for the most objectionable people. The only reason to try to suppress someone's free speech, is if you fear they will win the argument. I'm confident they will lose the argument and remain a marginalized fringe group.

The far left are not really protesting against far right ideas. They are protesting against the far right having a platform. They want to strip them of their first amendment so they can then incrementally expand the censorship until anyone to right of Mao is afraid to speak. • Protesting is not taking away someone's freedom of speech. They have a right to assemble, and so do counter-protestors. I don't agree with suppressing free speech either and responding to speech with violence is never the way to go. But people have a right to show up and protest the protestors and often, that leads to violence when speech is heated enough.
