I dare you to find better animals than my 4 parakeets. No bird has it better. They have two big cages with the doors open and they are so good they stay in 2 rooms that are safe. They poop mainly in the cage. The poop does not STINK. It is dry and small and does not need a litter box. They are compact. They are at least as gorgeous as cats and come in STEROPHONIC color, not muted earth colors only. They need so little attention it is laughable, and yet they interact with you and sing and chip till the cows come home.
They have very distinct personalities. Did I mention they can fly?
And one other thing. THEY CAN TALK.
So, gorgeous, lovable, friendly, talk, fly, no smell, eat cheap foods, poop in cage, no litter box ever
So, what does your smelly cat have to say now? Huh?

A better question would be how do they live longer. With fish and reptiles it is their low metabolism. I cannot account for birds though.
