How long do you go without talking to someone you are angry with?

That really depends on what they have done to make me angry. In the case of my two ex-husbands...a lifetime.

It can be for the rest of my life in some rare cases.

I have a quick, fiery temper, but my anger is generally short lived. There are people who once angered me greatly, such that I have no desire for them in my life any longer, but that anger has faded to either sadness, disgust or indifference. Those are people I may exchange a few words with at funerals, but otherwise I do not speak to them.

It depends on the reason why I am angry with them. If the reason is false accusation after 1970, I may never talk to them again.

My ex-husband feels the same way about me. But I am so over it that seeing him doesn't bother me a bit.

I sure wouldn't want to piss you off. I have seen you in action.

When I'm angry with someone, the silence is generally to preserve civility. There have been a few times where I've had to walk away from an argument for a few hours or a day because I don't want to say something I'll regret or make the fight worse. I don't stay angry, though. If the silence continues after that, I see the person or the relationship as something toxic and I cut myself off from it. In those cases, I don't talk to them because I'm indifferent. It has nothing to do with anger.

Until I cannot avoid it anymore or the other person dies.

Okay, perhaps I understated it a bit.  :)

Am I the only one?  Everyone so far is so CIVIL.

When I am mad?   You need to stay away for good.    Until I am not mad.  Sometimes that takes hours.  Sometimes.  Weeks.  Sometimes years.  Sometimes for good.
