What if someone stayed with you and would prefer fresh homemade food only, would you cater to their wishes?

My mommy stayed with me for almost 10 weeks, I left her with my brother's family in New Jersey yesterday ( she will return to India next month) daily I'd prepare fresh food, she won't eat previous day's food.

She knows how to cook, right?  "Mom, Randy D says you're on your own!"

(Duck, Veena, she might throw something at us!)

Ha ha she's an expert cook, Randy! But she prefers to stay away from cooking in US. These gadgets are a bit different from those in India;))

    Veena
    she's a lucky Mom
to have you as a daughter
    no leftovers for her huh?
so many dishes you make every day
treat her like royalty you did
    did she appreciate it?
    help you with the dishes?
    Help you prepare?
    or just demand service?? LOL
    no offense to mommy
but some are set in their ways
    and are very demanding...
    cheers
    oh,
    I couldn't handle it.
would give her instant oatmeal everyday...LOL

You are the most devoted of daughters.  What a wonderful mom you must have to be so deserving of this kind of royal treatment.

No. If they don't like it, then they can leave. If they're staying that long then they can pay for some food instead of being so lazy and a big mooch.

I like to cook, so if I had that kind of free time and $$, I guess I wouldn't mind.

Same here, SA.  I love to cook, but I do NOT love to cook when I do not have time to do a great job of it.

I need time.  If I have it and you are my guest, I think cooking for people is mostly fun.

It depends on who is doing the demanding.

If I invited someone and they came to stay, I would do whatever I could to please them that I find fun.   I do not find spending a lot of money for someone who has just invited themselves over and expects the royal treatment, very much fun at all.   If it were my mother?  Anything she wanted I would do.

But, if you are a friend of mine or I have time for you and you are hungry? I would love to try and make whatever it is you wish to eat.

If that person had spent years preparing fresh homemade food for me (as I assume your mother did for you), then I would be happy to do it for her. When my mother was in her final years, she would often apologize to me for being a burden. I always said 'no worries, another 18 years and we'll be even'. Don't miss this opportunity, Veena.

EXACTLY.  But we don't ever have to worry about Veena and her respect for mom.  She is a role model.
