I like yours better. I give this homeless regular  100 bucks every x-mas and afterwards he runs away really fast. I think he thinks ill change my mind. Its really sad, but i do it every year. My half brother is a paranoid schizophrenic and was homeless most of the time he was not in the mental institution. I am humbled by the quest of their helplessness. P

Homeless Charities. All avenues of it. Food, shelter, job assistance, anything to help them out in the desperate world they find themselves in.

I totally agree, but here's a little comic relief.

Very hard question... so many that tug at the heartstrings... animal charities always tempt me.. but then so do wildlife charities.. And there are charities that help women get out of prostitution and work to prevent child marriage in countries where women are treated as 2nd class citizens...  But then again, environmental issues get me too....  I need to be stinkingly rich so i can contribute to all of them :)

My charity of choice is the American Refugee Committee.

Its Mission: ARC works with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities. We help people survive conflict and crisis and rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. ARC is committed to the delivery of programs that ensure measurable quality and lasting impact for the people we serve.

I think that being forced from your home, your community and possibly even your country, would be one of the worst hardships.
