I was a painfully shy child who wanted nothing more than to be invisible. I would be on the sidelines in the shadows taking pictures of you! Thank you for your reply Sbf! :)
I'm one of seven kids. The eldest but NOT the biggest, so I had to hustle or get trodden on (younger siblings can expect to get hand-me-downs, but getting hand-me-UPs was humiliating). I carried on doing that in the bigger pond of life.
Wow! I have one sister who is 7 years younger. I was a very responsible child. I took it very seriously. I am serious. That's my default position. But I was also painfully shy. Add to that was the extremely odd situation of my LOVING school! I did. I got weary of summer vacation after two weeks and looked forward to going back to school! Who does that? So I skipped a few grades which exacerbated the situation because I was younger than the others kid, shy and also odd. A loner. Not by choice but I just slid into that role. Even as an adult sometimes I've wanted to be invisible. There were times at work when I just wished people would leave me alone to do my job. I'm very glad those days are behind me Sbf. Now I'm stress-free and I call the shots for me completely...well, with consideration for Jim of course but he is so very easy to live with! My baby sis would get my hand-me-downs. I never heard of hand-me-ups but I can imagine and appreciate that it would have been unsettling to you! Anyway you deserve the spotlight! You aren't obnoxious like, well, you know whom. You handle spotlights well. Thank you for your reply Sbf and Happy Saturday! :)
