After getting home from the store and realizing you forgot to pay for an item, would you go back and pay for it?

Hi Shar to the ROna. Did you see my answer on RosieGs question to looking up at the sky? I was thinking about having it published in a science magazine for money. I could use it to buy bird toys for my macaw. What do you think. ;+

I would. I actually got to the parking lot a couple of times before realizing it...and went back to pay.

No because forgetfulness is a gift that serves a useful purpose sometimes.  Why ruin it?

I'd like to just say "yes", but the truth is that it depends on how tired I was. If it was at the end of a 12 hour work day, there's no way I'd go back.

I have tried to go back at a later time to pay for something I wasn't charged for and they always look shocked and tell me not to worry about it.

Mostly not. Nor would I go back to correct an overcharge. These things even out over time. If I walked out of say, a jewelry store, with an expensive item, then I would go back, but not for Chapstick and a pack of Mentos.

No, if I wouldn't be charged with a felony, I'm keeping it.

You have to steal over 500 dollars worth of stuff to be charged with a felony. Keep it under the limit and youll be alright. ;)
