Hi everyone, this is Benedict Arnold, aka Karen.
Just wanted to say bye and let you know why I'm leaving. Pure and simple, this place is no longer where I want to hang out, the schoolyard bullies have taken over and no one who can do anything about it seems to care. Most of the questions are thinly disguised land mines, and I'm just sick of all the hate stinking up the air around here. This place is nothing like it used to be, and nothing like what it had the potential to be. It's been allowed to go to seed, and there's not much fun the be had around here these days. Most of the decent members have been ran off and no one seems to care about that either. I've held on as long as I could, but the rope finally snapped and there's no repairing it. I'm pretty sure this will be taken down, but some of you will see it before it goes to the Never-Never. I've really enjoyed getting to know you guys, and I am friends with some of you on Facebook, so we can still keep in touch there. I'm on another site that is kinda like what this place used to be. It's nice and relaxed there, not inundated with anti-Trump questions and arguments. I really mourn the death of this site, I was one of the very first members after Weylon got it up and running, so it really saddens me to walk away from it like this. I put a lot of time and energy into this site when I was a moderator, just to have it all come to this, sad, very sad. The site I'm on has a lot ex-members from here, so it's all good on that front. Y'all take care and maybe I'll see you on other sites....at least I hope so,

An very interesting thread in my opinion.
Within the last week, I wrote at least one comment on here suggesting that being termed a Benedict Arnold by this site could easily be a badge to be worn proudly, were I to be so categorized.
Appropriate humility requires me to acknowledge that I do contribute (at least some) worthwhile comments to this site. (Perhaps if I went a week or so with no one "liking" what I post, I might simply slip out the door if I became convinced there were no interest in reading what I wrote.)
However, we have lost a number of people since I joined after Blurtit started circling the drain. Blurtit subsequently snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, but it is not what it once was. A significant number of worthwhile contributors who were previously on Blurtit and moved here have left. Some have disengaged from Q & A sites, some simply dislike various things they found here. Some moved on to other sites; some returned to Blurtit. My personal experience is that all Q & A sites wax and wane over time. I have left two in the last year---one because it has almost no traffic; and the other because it had become simply too insipid.
Obviously, no one site can please everyone, but it needs to please some critical amount. The real question is whether it is going in the right direction, and I have some real concerns that it is not.
And yes, Karen, be well.
Hi Karen, sad to learn that you left AM;(( Sometines the lesser of two evils principle works) AM remains a decent site, for me that is important, thankfully 'those' obscene questions and gifs have disappeared now....and as for anti-trump mania....well....thd only option left is to be a cat and close eyes and expect it to wash away;))
